Tips on Using your New Replaceable Letter Sign System

By 1st March 2016Uncategorised

Now you have your new printed sign with all those lovely changeable letters, you need to start to act and think like a retailer, whether you are a sports club chairman, Church Manager or Live Sports Bar owner showing bt sport or sky sports fixtures.

Here we are going to run through a few basic tricks so your message gets read and acted upon. Remember, it’s the action that you are after!

Sign Position is absolutely Key to your new Sign’s Success………………

Don’t just stick it up somewhere because you have the space. Be the ‘traffic’ for a while and walk, drive, run or even cycle past your premises a few times and think where’s best for your sign display. A common mistake is to erect the sign board too close to passers by. We reckon our LPM 22 range can be read at upto 50 feet, whilst our replaceable letter size LPM 15 can be noticed at upto 70 feet away. Too close and it can be very hard to read your new messages.

Also put the sign up at a angle to the passing traffic. If it’s’ parallel, it is virtually impossible to read at a glance. Try an angle range of anywhere between 30 degrees to 60 degrees. 45% if perfect and will extent the viewing time massively. Think also about sunlight. Try and avoid positioning it in direct morning sunshine. Finally the height of your changeable message board needs to be carefully thought out. On the one hand the higher the better, on the other hand, too high and you’ll need a ladder to be able to change the plastic letters. Though very possible, sliding letters into the pvc tracks up a ladder to make your new message can be a bit hairy, if you don’t like heights!

Changing the Messages with your Sliding Letter Tiles.

Edit your changeable sign messages ruthlessly. Our written language and how we read is changing at a frightening rate! Think about how we write and engage with our language – it probably means that if our great grand parents were about, they more than likely would not understand a word we are writing today!

We are all accustomed to ‘litewords’, abbreviations, and three letter acronyms plus initials, so use them. The message will sink in quicker and probably stay for longer! Also I know it sounds a bit daft, but CHANGE your letters and messages on a regular basis. The more you remove and replace the message the more your sign’s message will get noticed. Try and create a personality for your message board. Maybe be a bit cheeky, a bit thought provoking or  possibly a little bit irreverent without being rude off course! The people who like your tone of sign board will watch out for next message and before you know it, your new changeable letter sign will have a following! Most important of all – have FUN!
