So your brand new, hand built Readerboard is on it’s way or has arrived, but what next? Please have a careful read through to ensure you get the very best out of your changeable sign system.

Firsly, your sign needs no assembly and only remove the
packaging once you are really really ready to install the sign. The metal diebond can be easily damaged even with a slight knock or bump. With your board you will receive your letters and security wrench. Keep these safe always, as your new readerboard can not be operated without it!

TIP #1

Prior to installing the sign onto your wall remove the plastic fascia first. This will lighten the sign and make it a lot easier to lift. However, before this is done we recommend to lightly scratch a very small mark on the fascias right at the top no more than 10mm long so that you will know which way to put it back. Grab a nail or screw to create the mark you wish.

Now simply place the wrench into the black spacers and rotate anti clockwise until the screws become free from the board and remove both the spacer and screw simultaneously. Now simply lift up and grab the fascia from within the bottom track. For the first few occasions it is perfectly normal to experience a tight fit. This will over time loosen.

Tip #2

When installing the sign, use the top track lip to place your spirit level on to ensure the sign is straight and even. Please note we do not provide drilled holes for fixings. Once installed onto your wall it’s time to get your first message up.

There is no need to slide the letters, they are designed to bend and ping in. Once all in, replace the fascia and lock down the letters using the wrench, spacers and screws.

DO NOT OVER SCREW USING THE WRENCH. ONLY SCREW TO THE POINT THAT THE BLACK SPACER DOESN’T MOVE. OVER SCREWING WILL DAMAGE THE BOARD.

Tip # 3

Light scratching of the letter tiles is perfectly normal and though visable when held up to the light, these blemishes will vanish when placed into the tracks. If however significant damage occurs then a replacement letter service is available. A general spirit based marker pen can be used on the ink side of the tile to fill in any major damage

NEVER EVER USE SPIRIT BASED DETERGENTS ON YOUR BOARD. ONLY WARM SOPPY WATER!

Tip # 4

Being outdoors, your sign will collect dirt and weather stains which can be easily removed using a warm soapy water and a sponge. Dirt may also build up in the tracks. Monthly cleaning is recommended for both fascia and board.

Tip #5

Keep your letters laid out somewhere so they can be managed more easily and reduce scratching over time. Always gather and create your message first. You will more than likely have enough to replace the existing message
